The Tax Agency provides you with a free download of the app Cl@ve PIN application for mobile devices: it is available for free download.Once installed, you can view the PIN codes previously obtained from the browser or from a mobile application integrated with Cl@ve PIN (for example, the Tax Agency app).
As a new feature, you will also be able to carry out all the Cl@ve PIN procedures already available on the website, such as regenerating the activation code for Permanent Cl@ve, amending the telephone number and e-mail address given at registration, obtaining a higher level of security, renouncing Cl@ve or revoking the Cl@ve Firma certificate.
To use the application you will need to have previously registered in the Cl@ve system";if you install it without being registered, the application detects it when you provide your details and will give you the option to register at that time.
Accessibility features
The mobile application allows the use of the support tools offered by the operating system and other customised tools, including screen readers, magnifiers (such as Zoom or Magnifier), large text and high contrast options, dictation and voice recognition, etc.
Download and install application
Go to "Google Play" and search for the Tax Agency's "Cl@ve PIN".To install the app, click "Install", accept the information on the requirements for running the app and finally, "Open".
A notice will then be displayed in the first window summarising the operation of the application and including the "Privacy Policy and Terms of Service" and "Data collection and use":
- The user must be previously registered in the system (if not, the app will recognise the user and give the option to register at that time);
- The activation is carried out by retrieving a PIN by SMS;
- After activation, you can view the previously obtained PIN codes from your browser or from a mobile application integrated with Cl@ve PIN;
- The PIN code is personal and non-transferable, valid for 10 minutes and can only be used once until you disconnect from the e-Office or close the browser.
- Users can only use the app on one device at a time.
Once you have read the alert, click "ACCEPT".
The first windows provide information about the new features of the app and the actions performed with the application:activation of the device and display of the requested PIN codes.Click "Next" in all.
User activation
To start the activation, enter your DNI/NIE and click "ACCEPT".
In the next window, depending on the document provided, the following data will be required:
- Validity date for DNI;
- Issue date, for permanent DNI (01-01-9999);
- Support number, if it is a NIE.
In the icon with the question mark in the top right corner, you can open the help content that explains in detail how to find this data on the various types of existing identity documents.
If the user is not registered in Cl@ve, the app offers the possibility of registering at that time.
- If you select "By letter to the tax address" you will be able to request the letter be sent to your tax address and, once received, register with the CSV code (Secure Verification Code) from the letter.
- If you select "By video call", you will be connected to an agent who will register you at that time (you need to have the ZOOM installed on your device and also activate the camera and sound).
- You can also select registration by electronic certificate or DNIe, which will link to the website, for which you must have a valid electronic certificate installed on your device.
An SMS notification will then be displayed on the phone of the number registered in Cl@ve (for security reasons only the last four digits are shown).A timer will also be displayed with the validity time for the activation code, which will be 10 minutes.Check your message inbox to see the PIN received.
Note:If the mobile phone number is incorrect or you have changed the number, click "CHANGE PHONE NUMBER".You will connect to the service "Change telephone number associated with Cl@ve...".
On the next screen, enter the PIN received via SMS and confirm the activation of the device by clicking "ACTIVATE DEVICE" and then "CONTINUE" on the next screen.
After the activation, the application will check if the user has a valid PIN, obtained within 10 minutes beforehand.If not, when you open the app you will be prompted that a valid PIN is not available at that time and how to obtain it.
The app does not have a PIN function.It only shows the last valid PIN, previously requested from the browser or from an app that has Cl@ve PIN integrated (such as the Tax Agency app)
If you have a valid PIN (valid from the last 10 minutes) it will be displayed on a new screen, along with a timer for the remaining validity time and the "Copy" button.
When using the PIN in any procedure (within 10 minutes of obtaining it) a window is displayed with the exact date and time it was used.
The next time you need a PIN code, when you access the application, you will be asked for the code that unblocks the device.

At the bottom of the screen you have several categories and the "Formalities" category includes all the formalities of the Cl@ve system;moreover, if the device is active, you will be able to carry them out from the app itself.Among the available formalities are:
- Regenerate Permanent Cl@ve Activation Code.
- Change telephone number associated with Cl@ve.
- Change e-mail associated with Cl@ve.
- Obtain a higher level of security in Cl@ve.With certificate or DNIe (web)
